The Loveland Foundation
Founded in 2018 by activist and educator Rachel Cargle, the Loveland Foundation provides financial support to Black women and girls seeking therapy and mental health support. Through fellowships, residency programs, listening tours, and more, they aim to help empower and liberate the communities they serve.
In the U.S., it it often difficult for Black women and girls to access therapy when needed. Individual sessions typically cost between $60 - $250, even with insurance, and the stigma surrounding mental health is prevalent in many communities. With the barriers affecting access to treatment by members of diverse ethnic and racial groups, the Loveland Therapy Fund provides financial assistance to Black women and girls nationally seeking therapy.
